Hire Terms & Conditions

1. Booking & Payment

  • A booking is only confirmed once required payment/deposit has been received.
  • Final payment is required before the event/hire date.
  • Equipment is not reserved until payment is received.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations more than 31 days before the event: refund of hire fees paid.
  • Cancellations within 30 days: payments are non-refundable.
  • Rescheduling or credit may be offered at Ashken Ltd's discretion depending on availability.
  • Delivery fees are non-refundable once scheduled.

3. Delivery & Collection

  • Customers must provide accurate delivery details and ensure access is available.
  • Additional charges may apply for difficult access, waiting time, failed deliveries, or additional trips.
  • Equipment must be ready for collection at the agreed time.

4. Equipment Use & Safety

  • Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose.
  • The hirer is responsible for ensuring safe use and appropriate supervision.
  • The hirer must follow all instructions provided by Ashken Ltd.
  • Ashken Ltd reserves the right to refuse unsafe use of equipment.

5. Damage, Loss & Bond

  • The hirer is responsible for all equipment from delivery/collection until return.
  • Damage, loss, missing items, theft, misuse, or excessive cleaning caused during the hire period will be charged to the hirer.
  • Where equipment cannot be repaired, the hirer agrees to pay the full retail replacement cost.
  • Additional costs may include replacement parts, freight, cleaning, and loss of hire availability.
  • If costs exceed the bond amount, the remaining balance must be paid within 7 days.
  • Reasonable recovery costs, including debt collection fees, may be passed on to the hirer.

6. Weather & Unforeseen Circumstances

  • The hirer is responsible for considering weather conditions for outdoor events.
  • Ashken Ltd is not responsible for cancellations, damage, or delays caused by weather, venues, power issues, or circumstances outside our control.
  • Safety comes first and Ashken Ltd may refuse setup or operation where conditions are unsafe.

7. Liability

  • Ashken Ltd supplies equipment in safe working condition.
  • Ashken Ltd is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage caused by incorrect use, misuse, lack of supervision, or third parties.
  • Nothing in these terms limits rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where applicable.

Agreement

By booking with Ashken Ltd, the hirer confirms they have read and agreed to these Hire Terms & Conditions and accepts responsibility for the equipment during the hire period.
